Who we are
History
Founded in 1951, the Sociedade Ciclista Lusitana, Lda . began by producing saddles.
By bicycle, later also turning to motorcycles. Up until the 70s/80s,
Lusitana primarily marketed its products to the domestic market.
It cooperated with companies such as Famel, Macal, Sachs, EFS and Casal.
and being part of the range of industries that led Águeda to be considered
the capital of "two wheels". It participated in and sponsored several cycling events,
Enduro and motocross in Portugal, having won numerous trophies.
with its brand “ LUSITO® ”.
Nowadays more than 50% of its production is exported,
with North African countries being the main destinations for its products.
However, EU countries continue to be a reference in their
exports to Europe.
Currently, Lusitana is one of the oldest companies
of the municipality to work continuously since its foundation.
